Daddy's Kangaroo Care 6-5-09

Jason got to kangaroo care for Christian this afternoon for 2 whole hours! He did so well and his little arms were wrapped around his chest the entire time! It was so adorable. His oxygen was able to be weened to 40 percent today! Can you believe that? I mean Sunday it was at a full 100%! Christian is a complete fighter and God is holding him in his hands with angels surrounded all around him. It makes me feel at ease leaving the hospital knowing that we have God to take care of things. God is good and lets continue praying!
With Love,
Jase and Michelle

  1. He looks great. I know that being held by Momma & Daddy helps him so much. I'm praying for the day that you can kiss those tubes goodbye and take your precious son home. Always in my prayers.

  4. Hi I am from the BBC subchorionic hemorrhage group and I was so touched by your story. I stumbled upon a journal w/ a link to your blog and it is so wonderful to see the progress he has made and that surviving this diagnosis is possible. Many women are going through what you guys have gone through myself included and I just wanted to let you guys know we are praying for your family! Thank you for sharing your story...

  5. I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm not trying to speak for everyone here, but you and your family felt like an extended part of my family. I always thought about you and Christian. Know that Christian touched my heart as well as a lot of others here. He is with God and is looking back and loving the time he spent with Mommy and Daddy. Be blessed for the short time you did have with him I know it wasn't enough and know that some one as strong as Christian will be a powerful presance in heaven and will be your gardian angel forever. Here are two poems I used to help me with the loss of my son last year.

    The world may never notice
    If a Snowdrop doesn't bloom,
    Or even pause to wonder
If the petals fall too soon.

But every life that ever forms,
    Or ever comes to be,
Touches the world in some small way
    For all eternity.

The little one we longed for
    Was swiftly here and gone.
But the love that was then planted
Is a light that still shines on.

And though our arms are empty,
Our hearts know what to do.
    Every beating of our hearts
Says that we will always love you.

They say memories are golden well maybe that is true.

I never wanted memories, I only wanted you.
A million times I needed you, a million times I cried.

If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly, In death I love you still.

In my heart you hold a place no one could ever fill.
If tears could build a stairway and heartache make a lane,

I'd walk the path to heaven and bring you back again.

No farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye,

You were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why
